People do not generally give solid food to their babies for a certain time. When your baby is born it should be given milk only because at that time the digestive tract of the baby is not strong enough. Most of the people start giving solids to their babies after a 6 – 7 month time. But to know when exactly your baby is ready for the solid food is a conundrum to many of us. 1# Baby’s tongue thrust flex is gone
The tongue trust flex also known as extrusion effect is when a solid food is put inside the baby’s mouth and it throws it out automatically. If you think your baby is ready for solids and you put something inside its mouth it which the baby throws out automatically is a sign that your baby is not ready yet. The tongue thrust reflex is usually gone within 4 months before that baby does not eat anything solid.
2# The baby is working his/her pincer grip
One of the signs that show your baby is ready for solid foods is that the baby starts working on its pincer grab and ready to sit on a highchair, read best high chairs review. 3# Baby is sits without assistance

If your baby still cannot sit without much assistance it means that he/she is not ready yet for solid foods. If your baby is not ready for solids and you try to put something in its mouth it will never open it wide. So if he opens wide mouth it means he asking for the solid food now.
5# Baby chews
Observe your baby carefully and if at the time when the baby is not doing anything or eating, it will start to move his mouth like chewing. If the baby is making chewing faces this means that the baby is asking for solid food and needs more than milk now.
6# Baby imitates you
One of the signs that show your baby is ready to consume solid food is that the baby will start to imitate the mom or dad. He will imitate your actions like an ape and even while you eat he will imitate you. This is also a clear sign that your baby is ready for the solid foods now.
